Frequently Asked Questions

  1. May I tour before my child enrolls?
Yes, we encourage you and your child to come in for your own personal tour.
  2. Does Overfield provide snacks?
Healthy, nutritious snacks are provided daily.
  3. Does Overfield provide lunches?
Children bring their lunch and Overfield provides milk.  However, not all children eat lunch at Overfield; parents schedule this by contacting the office.
  4. May I visit my child?
Parents are welcome at any time.
  5. When does Overfield close?
Overfield rarely closes due to weather. (We do not follow Troy School’s closings or delays.)  However, we encourage parents to decide if they want to bring their child.
  6. What is your discipline policy?
Overfield’s guidelines are that a child may not do anything that would hurt himself, hurt others, or maliciously damage equipment.  Teachers assist children, as needed, in working through issues that arise. Our ultimate goal is to help children develop self-control, problem-solving skills, and the ability to express themselves.
  7. What is your policy for sick children?
If a child has any symptoms of an illness, he/she is brought to the office. A parent is called to pick up the child.
  8. Do children ever take field trips?
Yes, trips are planned that provide opportunities for children to learn more about what they are investigating and involved with in the classroom.  Parents drive to the various destinations.
